In this depth test performed by hypnotist, a subject is asked to extend one arm and make a fist. Then, the subjects asked repetitively to imagine their entire arm becoming stiff and ridged from shoulder to knuckles. Often, the hypnotist will suggest that their arm is as stiff as a piece of steel. Once this is achieved, the subject will be asked to bend their arm, and finds that their arm is to stiff and ridged to bend. Even with the assistance of the hypnotist, the subject is unable to bend their arm. Lastly, the hypnotist will suggest that the subjects arm becomes loose, limp and back to normal, in which their arm returns to a normal state. This depth test can be performed also on ones leg, finger, even their entire body when supported by two chairs at head and feet with an assistant standing on the subjects hips.
